The Lille Dachshund Walk

We were at the Dachshund Walk in Lille, and it was unforgettable! 

Nearly a thousand dachshunds have taken over the streets of Lille. We’ve got the full story.

Some Sundays start just like any other but end in a tsunami of little paws, long ears and unlikely costumes. This Sunday, 26 April, in Lille, that’s exactly what happened. We arrived with Lucienne and Vicky, our two star dachshunds for the brand, and left with our pockets full of memories.

The Lille Dachshund Walk – an event not to be missed!

For those of you who are new to the event: the Lille Dachshund Walk is now in its third year, and it’s unlike anything else. What’s it all about? Hundreds of dachshund owners gather at Place de la République in Lille to stroll together through the city’s streets. Free, festive and full of life, nearly a thousand dachshunds turned out this year.

A huge thank you to the organisers – Louis Hubners, Elise and Florence – for a truly flawless event! Thank you also to all the other sponsors present for their commitment and positive energy!
This walk had a cause that is particularly close to our hearts: supporting the charity SAFE Lille (Secours aux Animaux de la Faune Environnante de Lille).

Our Lucienne la Parisienne bandanas: a craze we hadn’t anticipated! 

It was at this dachshund walk that Lucienne la parisienne became a sponsor of a dachshund event for the first time. Bandanas featuring the three logos – Lucienne la parisienne, the Lille Dachshund Walk and the SAFE Lille association – were given to participants.

As soon as we arrived at the meeting point, people literally rushed towards us. Word of the bandanas had clearly spread before we even arrived! Within minutes, a small crowd of dog owners had gathered around Lucienne, Vicky and us. Everyone wanted to leave with one of these colourful little accessories for their dachshund’s neck. We handed them out, handed them out, smiled, took photos and handed them out some more…

Seeing so many dachshunds out and about wearing our designs on the streets of Lille was a magical moment that we hadn’t expected to experience so deeply. We were delighted to meet our followers in person and left with our hearts full of emotion.

The surprise interview with Ici – an unexpected moment! 

The day had already been very busy when, at the meeting point, just before the walk set off, the media outlet *Ici* approached Viktoriya for an interview. No preparation, no script – just a spontaneous conversation about the brand, about our presence there, and about what dachshunds mean to us. It’s one of those things you don’t expect, but which end up making the day memorable.

The conclusion of this magnificent event! 

This day will remain etched in our memories. From meeting members of our community to the hundreds of dachshunds we came across on the streets of Lille, not to mention the smiles, the conversations and the moments of togetherness, this third edition of the Lille Dachshund Walk was a resounding success.

We are always delighted to take part in and support events that bring dachshund lovers together around a shared passion. These moments remind us why we created Lucienne la Parisienne: to celebrate these extraordinary dogs and the unique community that surrounds them.
